Midwest MCFL Chokefeeder® Module

Chokefeeder® I and II
Open Vessel Loading and Open Stacking to 6000* TPH and 100' of Travel

Known world wide as "the dust free loading machine," these Chokefeeder® dry bulk loading systems are the ultimate in dust control. Chokefeeder® systems stop the velocity of the falling column releasing the cargo gently on the pile with little or no dust. PLC controlled heavy cast stainless steel or cast ductile vanes modulate on command, keeping dust inside the system and the cargo in the ships hold.

For high abuse and low maintenance lifetime operation, the Chokefeeder® I system with Vacupac II integral filtration module, automatic compressed air filter purging, and clean air fan, has a variety of options to satisfy the most difficult shiploading applications.

For anti-plugging protection, this series includes an optional product relief door module with pneumatic actuated cast aluminum dump doors. When signaled by the lower plug sensors, these doors open quickly, avoiding cargo plugging inside the system. Additional Failsafe continuous load cell weight monitoring systems with operator digital displays are available for overload protection.

Chokefeeder® I systems are available with the Torquemaster integral drive winch or separate winch with cast ductile, precision machined cable lifting pulleys or drums, which include the Runaway redundant brake system as an option to prevent free wheeling should the gear box fail.

Polished and precision rolled stainless steel telescoping tube construction and labyrinth four part neoprene and Tivar® seals maintain telescoping integrity during extension and retraction of all Chokefeeder® I systems.

The Chokefeeder® I Series is ideal for retrofitting to an older shiploading structure. The optional Midwest lufting system shown here allows the system to be lufted up and under the shuttle conveyor structure providing additional clearance when moving the shiploader in and out over the vessel.

Automatic raising and lowering through the PLC system keeps dust to a minimum. Water and corrosion resistant PLC enclosures with full graphic displays of vane actuation can be located on the retractable system, in the MCC room or the operator's cab.

Pneumatic belt cleaning and dust emission monitoring systems are also available to keep any port facility or shipping terminal in compliance with air quality codes.

*Throughput capacities based on 60 PCF fines at 12 FPS entry velocity.

Available in sizes to 6000 TPH, this PLC vane control module electronically knows when to gently release product on the pile at a significantly reduced velocity with virtually no dust. Cast steel precesion machined vanes and hubs with sealed-for-life ball bearings provide years of trouble free maintenance.

Actuated by special electronic sensors, loadcells, and PLC logic, this Chokefeeder® module guarantees no visible dust will be emitted to the air or water. This shiploader can be used to reduce degradation of product by soft loading delicate cargo. Pre-programmed with eight alternate programs, this unit is ideal for ship and barge loading as well as open stockpiling, and is available in several classes of construction including cast 316 L stainless stell vanes and hubs.

This Chokefeeder® module is equipped with rugged neoprene dock bumper, stainless steel access doors and pneumatic accumulator as standard equipment.
